Season includes Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis, the music of Star Wars
and a multi-sensory concert fusing art and science.
PLANO, TX: Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO), Music Director Héctor Guzmán, and President & CEO Gregory Patterson announced today the 2025/2026 Season lineup. The 43rd season, themed “Music that Matters,” will feature international guest artists, iconic music, and a celebrated multi-Grammy winner. Maestro Héctor Guzmán will lead the orchestra in a variety of genres showcasing the virtuosity of the musicians. The season will open on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Robinson Fine Arts Center.
“Music Matters! It inspires us, it moves us, it stirs our soul…but more importantly, it touches the heart,” says Music Director Héctor Guzmán. “Whether it’s a celebration, a solemn occasion, a wedding, a performance, a concert…music always seems to stir every fiber of our being. In our spectacular 2025-2026 season the PSO will be performing music that is not only beautiful, but that matters indeed!”

Season highlights include:
- Michael Cavanaugh: The Music of Billy Joel and Elton John. This opening night celebration showcases the hits of two of the greatest piano-rock legends of the modern era starring Grammy and Tony nominated artist Michael Cavanaugh.
- Strings in Motion: Vivaldi and Piazzolla. Featuring the acclaimedLatin American String Quartet.
- Beethoven’s Fifth & The Music of Star Wars. Experience the timeless brilliance of Beethoven alongside the thrilling sounds of one of the most beloved film franchises in history.
- Home for the Holidays. The annual holiday traditionwill feature Grammy-nominated guest artist Charles Billingsley and the Plano West Senior High Choir.
- Sound and Vision: A Multi-Sensory Journey. Featuring the KV 265 Science Through Art project Aurora Triptych and former PSO concertmaster Vesselin Demirev performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto.
- Branford Marsalis Jazz Quartet. The multi-Grammy Award winner brings three friends along in his return appearance with the PSO for an evening of incredible jazz music.
- A Night in Paris! A celebration of French composers featuring guest soloist Rosana Eckert.
- The Grand Finale! Carmina Burana. With orchestra and large choir, the final concert features the extraordinary Krisztina Fejes, as the guest soloist, showcasing her brilliant performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D. Also joining the PSO will be the Plano West Senior High Choir.
