About the Plano Symphony Orchestra

The Plano Symphony is a fully professional orchestra that touches the lives of over 190,000 North Texans annually in the city of Plano and surrounding communities. The Plano Symphony has the rare achievement in the industry of playing to sold-out houses for well over a decade. The orchestra and Hector Guzman, Music Director, are known for their versatility, offering unique, fun and exciting concert experiences that combine the best in classical music, Broadway, pops and jazz. World-renowned guest artists join the orchestra for subscription series performances. In addition, the Plano Symphony’s education programs impact the lives of up to 40,000 students in North Texas each year, including school concerts that incorporate studies aligned with school curriculum. Community outreach programs offer unique ensemble performances in various North Texas locations, musician visits in schools, a touring Instrumental Petting Zoo that allows young children the opportunity to hold and play musical instruments, and Healing Notes–performances that combine music with Music Therapy. Audience members often refer to “joining the family” once they attend and get involved with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
