Plano Symphony Orchestra is proud to present our 41st Anniversary Gala—CINEMATIC MELODIES: A Night of Movies and Music! Tickets on sale now for only $175 per person!
Music composed for the movies plays such an important role in the storytelling. Think about watching Jaws without that pulsating theme by John Williams or the theme created by Henry Mancini for that eponymous cartoon character from The Pink Panther. Movie music has played a pivotal role in pop music for decades. The James Bond theme songs made British singer Shirley Bassey an international star (“Diamonds are Forever”), and who could forget their favorite huckleberry friend, Andy Williams, as he croons Mancini’s iconic “Moon River.” Music makes the movies, and we invite you to come celebrate an evening of movie music at our 2024 Gala—Cinematic Melodies: A Night of Movies and Music, on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
This wonderful night includes dinner, drinks, and special performances by PSO favorite Haley Sicking, PSO Musician April Kondrat’s band Your Mother’s Mix Tape, and PSO Musician Efren Guzman’s jazz trio. You can also look forward to a Hollywood themed silent and live auction with all sorts of special items to buy and a wine paired dinner created exclusively for this event. It’s an experience you and your guests won’t forget.
We know you’ll have a wonderful time—think of it as Judy Garland meets Gene Kelly meets Liza Minnelli meets Whitney Houston. It’ll be a celebration of all the musical movie memories you’ve been raised with. You’ll leave with a “smile on your face, and a melody in your heart…”
