Glen Hummel
- Principal trumpet with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
- Glen is also principal trumpet with the Irving Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Classic Brass Quintet. Glen also performs occasionally with the Imperial Brass , Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and Dallas Winds.
- He performs regularly at Saint Michaels and All Angels as well Royal lane Baptist Church.
- He earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University
- Mr. Hummel performed with Bob Hope, B.J. Thomas, The Spinners and Doc Severenson.
Fun Facts:
- Glen is retired from cabinet making and focuses on trumpet and projects for his two daughters. Now a grandpa ‘Wendy” is 1 years old and the second is on the way.
- He grew up in Elkhart, IN where they make trumpets.

Simon Willats
Simon was born in England and graduated from the University of London
He cruised the Mediterranean and Caribbean performing with the Cunard and Holland America Cruise Lines!
Simon regularly performs on trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba!
- Simon has recorded for the BBC, PBS, CNN, Disney, National Geographic and the Golf Channel.
- He has also performed with many artists ranging such as Andrea Bocelli, Wayne Bergeron, Phil Woods, Paul Anka, Doc Severinson, Johnny Mathis, Allen Vizzuti, , Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, The O’Jays, The Temptations, Hans Zimmer, Weird Al Jankovic, Martina McBride, Hugh Jackman and the Who.
- He has also played for many National touring shows such as Chicago, Anything Goes, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz and Les Miserables.

Jennifer Wheeler
- Piccoloist with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
- Currently teaches flute, music history, and music theory at Collin College and performs regularly with the Dallas Winds and Irving Symphony Orchestra.
- Earned a doctoral degree from UT Austin where she studied with Marianne Gedigian, a master’s degree from the University of Southern California under Jim Walker, and an undergraduate degree from UNT under Dr. Mary Karen Clardy.
- Jennifer played piccolo on a Grammy nominated album “John Williams at the Movies” with the Dallas Winds
Fun Facts:
- Jennifer picked the flute in sixth grade because the case fit in her backpack!
- Jennifer has three beautiful children who also love to be on stage: Elaina, Sophia, and Logan.
- Jennifer has a dog and 2 cats and has fostered almost 100 puppies and kittens!.

Leslie Massenburg
- Principal bassoonist with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
- Plays principal bassoon in the Dallas Chamber Symphony and Irving Symphony, plays second bassoon with the Richardson Symphony, and plays contrabassoon with the Dallas Winds and East Texas Symphony, and frequently subs with the Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony and Ft. Worth Symphony
- Earned a master’s degree from SMU where she studied with Wilfred Roberts and an undergraduate degree in bassoon performance and piano pedagogy from Baylor.
- Currently teaches 40 private bassoon students in the Dallas area, plays piano and accompanies her bassoon students at their competitions, teaches online lessons for American River college in California, and filmed an entire set of beginner lessons for MusicProfessor.com.
Fun Facts:
- Leslie started piano at age 5, played the flute, sang in choirs, and was drum major for her high school band.
- Leslie is a busy mom with her three children, Callie, Gavin, and Clark, and a big black lab/poodle named Shiner Bach.
- Leslie plays on multiple competitive tennis teams!

Bo Landefeld
- Violist with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
- Additionally plays with the Irving Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Dallas based Grammy nominated chamber ensemble Voices of Change. She also performs regularly with the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra.
- Earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California studying under Donald McInnes and Ralph Fielding. She later attended SMU while studying with Barbara Sudweeks, Associate Principal Violist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
- Has participated in masterclasses and chamber music coaching’s with Yo Yo Ma, Andre Watts, Zubin Mehta, Alexander Treger, Evan Wilson, and Paul Philips.
Fun Facts:
- She began playing violin in China at age 4.
- She loves cooking all different kinds of food for her family.
- She enjoys watching Dallas Mavericks games and listening to 80’s rock with her husband (but not at the same time!)
- Bo and her husband John (principal cellist of PSO) has a home teaching studio, and they love bringing their son Max to all the concerts.
- Bo was in a Boyz to Men and Trisha Yearwood music videos!

Diego Campos
Violinist Diego Campos Medina has been recognized as an emerging artist for his interpretive touch and musical sensibility by various Chilean news. After his debut with the Chilean National Symphony Orchestra at age 12, Diego has performed as a soloist with every main orchestra in the country. As a three-time winner of the Chilean National Violin Competition, he has played as guest concertmaster in Argentina, Uruguay, Canada, and the United States.
Diego is the former concertmaster of the Chilean Youth Chamber Orchestra and performed as the first violin of the Newén Quintet with whom he has toured the Caribbean, Canada, and the United States. Throughout his career, Diego has collaborated with world-class musicians such as Pinchas Zukerman, Jan Vogler, Julia Fischer, Gil Shaham, Rachel Barton Pine, Phillipe Quint, Paul Newubauer and Edward Arron, as well as conductors Paolo Bortolameolli, Fabio Luisi, Marin Alsop, Elim Chan, Larry Rachleff, Robert Spano and Daniel Harding. Diego has also collaborated with different chamber groups such as the Baumer Quartet, Viano Quartet, Marmen Quartet, and Penderecki Quartet among others.
Throughout his career, Diego has enjoyed helping the next generation of musicians. In 2014, he was the Artistic Director of “Sembrando Música,” a non-profit organization helping young Chilean musicians’ study and develop their artistic skills. This program was later given to the Municipality of Curanilahue, where they are now in charge of the Curanilahue Children and Youth Orchestra.
After two years of working with the Orquesta del Maule, being their youngest violinist ever accepted, Diego decided to continue developing his career in the Dallas area. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music Performance under the instruction of Felix Olschofka and Eunice Keem. In 2022, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with his Master’s in Violin Performance studying with Emanuelle Boisvert and Diane Kitzman. Diego plays the role of the 1st violin section in different orchestras, highlighting his participation with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Fort Worth Symphony. Diego is currently a member of The Dallas Opera teaches a small private teaching studio in the DFW area.

Maria Vallejo
Dr. Maria Vallejo, Ecuadorian flutist, is an accomplished solo, chamber, and orchestral musician who has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador. She has participated in renowned festivals including the Round Top Music Festival and the Orchestra of the Americas, and has played with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, Toronto Concert Orchestra, and more.
In addition to her performance career, Maria is a dedicated arts administrator. She is currently the Director of Development at the Plano Symphony Orchestra, leading fundraising initiatives, advancement strategies, and campaigns to support the organization’s mission and growth. She previously served as the Patron Services and Special Events Manager, overseeing major donor events and enhancing patron engagement, and as the Education and Administrative Associate, contributing to the development and expansion of the organization’s education and community engagement programs.
She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance with a related field in Music Business and remains a passionate advocate for the transformative power of music.

Simón Gollo

Simón Gollo is recognized as a versatile and charismatic musician, enjoying a thriving international career spanning chamber music, teaching, solo performances, and conducting. Additionally, he is a recording artist with the global label IBS Classical and is represented by HALAC Artists and Meluk Kultur Management together with the Reverón Piano Trio.
In January 2023, Simón Gollo was appointed Artistic Director and Conductor of the Carolina Youth Symphony and conductor for the Furman Symphony Orchestra. Named as the conductor of the New Mexico State University Philharmonic in 2016, Simón Gollo has experienced extraordinary growth in this facet of his career that has not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous invitations to conduct both youth and professional orchestras through the United States, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Venezuela. He is also a recording artist for the worldwide recording label IBS Classical, and is represented, alongside the Reverón Piano Trio, by HALAC Artists and Meluk Kultur Management. Since January 2022, he has served as the artistic director at the New England Music Camp.
Simon was recently appointed as Professor of Violin at the University of North Texas. He will share his time between UNT and the Plano Symphony Orchestra in the upcoming season.
Simón Gollo has graced countless stages across Europe, and the American continent from Canada to Chile. His extensive career has led him to perform at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Cadogan Hall (London), the 92nd Street Y’s Kaufmann Concert Hall (New York), the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), Bolívar Hall (London), Teatro Teresa Carreño (Caracas), Auditorio Blas Galindo (Mexico City), Auditorio Manuel de Falla (Granada), and Teatro Mayor (Bogotá), for renowned organizations including the BBC Proms Festival, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, and the Chamber Music Society of Detroit. He has collaborated with international figures such as Alessio Bax, Ricardo Morales, Dmitri Berlinsky, Monique Duphil, Edicson Ruiz, Paul Rosenthal, John Novacek, Alissa Margulis, Jakob Koranyi, Miguel da Silva (Ysaÿe Quartet), Richard Young (Vermeer Quartet), Ori Kam (Jerusalem Quartet), Randolph Kelly, and the Cuarteto Latinoamericano, among many others.
His journey as a chamber musician encompasses solo performances of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Brahms’ Double Concerto, Bottesini’s Double Bass Concerto, and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, collaborating with prestigious orchestras including the “Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela”, “Filarmónica de Bogotá”, “Orquesta Sinfónica de Salta” (Argentina), Central Ohio Symphony (USA), Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (USA), and “Orquesta de Caxias do Sul” (Brazil), among others. These collaborations have been conducted under the baton of renowned conductors such as Conrad van Alphen, Theodore Kuchar, and Carlos Izcaray. In 2020, his album “CHAUSSON,” alongside pianist John Novacek, garnered widespread critical acclaim from prestigious magazines such as Scherzo, Melómano, Mundo Clásico, El Diario de Sevilla, and Fanfare. Furthermore, his most recent album, created in collaboration with the Reverón Piano Trio, received the esteemed ‘Melómano de Oro’ award from a leading classical music magazine in 2023.
As an orchestra conductor, Simón Gollo has built a brilliant career directing orchestras such as the Simón Bolívar Chamber Orchestra and is set to make his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba. He is consistently invited to conduct various youth and professional orchestras throughout North and Latin America.
Simón Gollo has solidified his national reputation as a distinguished violin instructor during his tenure at both NMSU and Furman University from 2015 to 2024. His students consistently achieve remarkable success, winning concerto competitions, gaining admission to renowned music festivals, and excelling in orchestra auditions nationwide. Now, poised to embark on a new chapter, Simon Gollo ascends to the esteemed position of Associate Professor of Violin at the prestigious University of North Texas, further cementing his legacy as a violin teacher.

Mary Alice Druhan
Over the past three decades, clarinetist Mary Alice Druhan has performed around the world as a soloist and in chamber ensembles including DeuxEaux, CoCane Clarinets, Triforia Winds, New Texas Sinfonia, Dallas Festival of Modern Music, Mount Vernon Music, and the Color of Sound. She has also performed with many professional orchestras and bands in that time, including the Dallas Winds, the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” Natchez Opera, Ohio Light Opera, Baton Rouge Symphony, Acadiana Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Shreveport Opera, East Texas Symphony, Plano Symphony, Wichita Falls Symphony, and Sherman Symphony.
She served as Professor of Clarinet at East Texas A&M University from 2002 until her retirement in 2025 and was recognized in the areas of teaching and research by the H.M. Lafferty Distinguished Faculty Award, the James “Jim” Vornberg Award for Teaching, the Faculty Senate award for “Unfettered Thought in RSCA,” a nomination for the Regents Professorship in 2020, and more.
Mary Alice Druhan joined the Plano Symphony staff in November of 2025 as Education Associate after a distinguished career in higher education and extensive work in event planning and management. Mary is known for her volunteer coordination of local, regional and national events including the national Clarinet Colloquium and local Clarinets & Cookies events as well as for serving as the Artistic Director and host for the ClarinetFest conferences of the International Clarinet Association in both 2021 and 2025. She also served several years as a member of the Education Committee of the Dallas Winds which is responsible for creating events such as the Jump Start clinics, the Dallas Winds Honor Band, and the Windband Festival.
Mary Alice Druhan is a Performing Artist for Backun Musical Services, a member of the Legere Endorsing Artist Team, and a member of the Silverstein Pro Team.

John Hunter
Coming from South Texas, John Hunter has performed with many of the regional orchestras and is an extremely in-demand performer and teacher in the DFW Metroplex. He is currently principal bass of the Corpus Christi Symphony for the 25-26 Season. He has also been invited to perform with include Fort Worth Symphony, Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony, Dallas Chamber Symphony, Richmond, Memphis, Arkansas, Shreveport, Tulsa and National Philharmonic in Washington DC.
An active teacher for students in middle school, his students have recently been receiving praise and obtaining high chairs in their respective all-region orchestra as well as the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. He teaches all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and recently became adjunct faculty at Abilene Christian University.
During his spare time, John is an active marathon runner as well as a huge foodie. He loves to try and eat food with his friends and his favorite pastime is to try new coffee shops.
