Alexandra, a Connecticut native, is honored to be joining the Plano Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Conductor to Maestro Guzman. Now based in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, Alexandra is a doctoral student studying with Professor David Itkin in the graduate orchestral conducting studio. Alexandra, who has a special interest in opera, also serves as Assistant Conductor to the UNT Opera Program.

Alexandra previously served as Diane Wittry’s Conducting Fellow with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, and as the Orchestra Director for the Ozark Festival Orchestra. As guest conductor, Alexandra has led performances with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra, the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, in two performances of The Nutcracker featuring the Allen Civic Ballet, and with the Plano Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to her passion for conducting, Alexandra is an accomplished harpist. A member of the American Harp Society, she has performed as a guest harpist with orchestras throughout Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Texas. Notably, she participated in a performance at the American Harp Society National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a faculty member at the Elyrica Summer Harp Program in Connecticut. As a graduate student at the University of North Texas, she studies with Dr. Jaymee Haefner and performs with the HarpBeats Ensemble.

Alexandra especially enjoys sharing the joy of music with students. As a faculty member at Drury University in Missouri, she directed the orchestra and taught undergraduate music classes. She was also on the faculty of Holy Family High School in Colorado, where she taught music theory and directed the student orchestra and band. Currently, she conducts the Dull Roar Orchestra at UNT, a high school orchestra for students in the Texas Academy of Math and Science. For many years, Alexandra has also maintained a private harp and piano studio.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Harp Performance from Washburn University, a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from Missouri State University, and will complete her Doctorate of Musical Arts at UNT in 2028.
