PLANO, TX: The Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) continues its 2025/2026 Season, Music That Matters, with Beethoven’s Fifth and the Music of Star Wars on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. at the Robinson Fine Arts Center in Plano. The concert opens with Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, a powerful and dramatic masterpiece that has captivated audiences for centuries. The second half takes patrons on an epic journey through the Star Wars universe with selections from John Williams’ legendary scores, including music from The Phantom Menace, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens.
“The music of Beethoven has had an enduring influence on contemporary film music composers, and John Williams is no exception,” commented Maestro Héctor Guzmán. “And much like Beethoven, Williams’ use of themes associated with specific characters or ideas—think Imperial March, Luke’s Theme—enhance an audience’s connection to the story. They both employ rich orchestrations, evoking powerful and memorable experiences in the lives they touch.”
Tickets for the concert range in price from $33-$95 with $15 student tickets available in most sections and can be purchased through the Plano Symphony Orchestra Box Office (972-473-7262/planosymphony.org). The Robinson Fine Arts Center is located at 1800 Alma Drive in Plano, Texas.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Wanda June Parker.
