PLANO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Dr. Maria Vallejo previously served as the Patrons Services and Special Events Manager for the PSO

PLANO, TX: Gregory Patterson, President & CEO of the Plano Symphony Orchestra announced the promotion of Dr. Maria Vallejo to the position of Director of Development. 

As Director of Development at the Plano Symphony Orchestra, she will lead fundraising and major gift initiatives, advancement strategies, and campaign efforts alongside the President & CEO to support the organization’s mission and growth. Prior to this role, she served as the Patron Services and Special Events Manager, overseeing major donor events and addressing the needs of patrons to enhance their engagement with the PSO. She previously held the role of Education and Administrative Associate, where she played a key part in developing and expanding the orchestra’s educational and community engagement programs.

“Maria has demonstrated a keen ability to connect with our mission and a donor’s passions,” said PSO President & CEO Gregory Patterson. “She revealed early on that she has a strong command of both music and connecting our community with our work and mission. The PSO is lucky to have Maria serving in this role as Director of Development. As we work to add new projects to our menu and expand our performance footprint, among many other new projects on the horizon, having Maria leading our development efforts will serve the institution well,” said Patterson. 

Before joining the PSO, Maria was the Academic Coordinator for Sinfónica Azteca, an innovative music education platform in Mexico dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists with strong musical and leadership skills.

A passionate advocate for the transformative power of music, Maria is also an accomplished flutist. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and has performed with various orchestras and ensembles across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and her native Ecuador.
