Renowned as a conductor of “uncommon emotional intensity” (Marie-Celine), American conductor Mélisse Brunet is a native of Paris, France, with an active career on both sides of the Atlantic. She currently serves as Music Director of both the Lexington Philharmonic and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. Brunet is one of the five conductors featured in the documentary Maestra by the Director Maggie Contreras on Netflix. Maestra garnered 2nd place and the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary.

Guest artist Rachel Martin joined the Lexington Philharmonic as Principal Bass in late 2023. She also performs regularly with leading orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony.
