Hector Guzman and the Plano Symphony Orchestra pay tribute to several of the great legends of swing and jazz. Band musician, arranger, composer and band leader of the swing era, Glenn Miller memorialized In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Pennsylvania 6-5000 and more. After his death, Duke Ellington received a Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for elevating jazz to a major art form as composer, pianist, and band leader during his 50-year career. Count Basie’s theme songs included One O’Clock Jump and later April in Paris during his 50 years as conductor of his own jazz orchestra. Then prepare to be amazed by the incredible winners of the annual Collin County Young Artist Competition in their concerto winning performances - perhaps new legends in the making!
